Where are these "American People" that WANT corporations to not pay taxes?!?

Majority of Americans already pay very little tax when you factor in the value of the services they receive from the governemnt vs the tax they pay.

All these government services you cut people are still going to need but now they will have to pay for it out of their own pockets directly so the net gain in negligible.

Bottom line is the gap between rich and poor is far to big now in America and the rich are not pay their far share of tax.

The rise of the Tea Party has shown otherwise.

Stop voting for career politicians and you start seeing real change in Washington.

Regardless of whether some of your arguments have any merit, none of your arguments are remotely convincing.

Monetary policy is much more important to the economy then any fiscal 'trickle down' policy.

Think about your illustration for a moment.

In your Lemonade stand you had; paper cup tax, water tax, lemon tax, etc.

This is a clear example of VAT. Value Added Tax. Where each step in the product making process is taxed. Some european countries tax this way.

America does not. Thus, your story is perfectly relevant for another country, but it doesn't work like that here.

In America as a corporation you pay taxes on your net profits. To put it simply; Gross Revenue MINUS Operating Expenses = Net Profits.

Again, in your Lemonade Stand it would look like this:

Cost of cup - .05
Cost of lemon - .03
Cost of water - .02

Total cost of your product = .10

You sell it for .25, making a .15 profit.

You see, in AMERICA, we're discussing taxation on the .15 profit. So, lets for simplicity sake assume the corporation pays 30% their net profits in tax. This would be .045 due to the government in taxes.

BUT... Corporations share the ability to legally fiddle with the nurabers. They can actively control the costs and revenue for their corporation - something the common man cannot do.

In fact, most corporations today pay ZERO income tax.

The reasons *WHY* are many.

You see, your logic with the lemonade stand is infantile at best and at worst, clearly manipulative.

I can see your opinion is already made.

Cut the lazy fuckers off, and let them die.

Where are these "American People" that WANT corporations to not pay taxes?!?

I want corporations to pay less tax here than they would pay anywhere else in the world (for the most part)

I am in favor of taxing executives more, though

Despite what the uneducated laymen think, most people in my profession do find most of the code far too complex but not for the same reason you do.

I know this. I already made it clear the government and social problems are worse there. My wife and I could still make a good living as engineers & I could go to the beach & drink choppe every day.

He and his party had a total super majority control of the entire government. The economy was an issue when they were swept to power and he completely ignored it.

Instead they saw their opportunity in the chaos to spend as much as they wanted on whatever they wanted and our economic duress of today is the result. He is certainly not someone that can fix the economy, he already demonstrated that.

If anything Washington neeRAB a new President (Dem, Rep, whatever) and far less career politicians and far more who are freshmen with real ideals and solutions with majority control.

In some European countries they're closing down post offices and just training grocery store workers and the like to provide mail services. So if you order a package you can have it delivered to the grocery store and pick it up there or whatever.

I'm probably late to the party, but like was pointed out, businesses just pass on the cost of taxes to the consumer, just like any other cost.

It can be shown using simple economic arguments that taxes on businesses just create inefficiencies where everyone loses. The business sells fewer gooRAB at a price lower than it could otherwise (lower before taxes), while people buy fewer gooRAB at a price higher than they could otherwise.

Since taxes get passed on to consumers regardless, it would make more sense to just tax the people and leave the businesses alone. Since all the money winRAB up in the hanRAB of a person anyways, it would work out the same for taxation (if you do it right), while simulatenously making it easier for businesses to survive.

So tax money leaving the country (foreign ownership), don't tax businesses at all, and tax people accordingly.

The only time businesses should incur a tax is when they are consuming a public resource whose cost isn't accurately being factored into the operational costs. An example of this would be pollution - the business should pay the cost to clean up the pollution - either directly, or indirectly via taxation.

The bigger entitlements for the rich are tax breaks and economic/monetary policy like low interest rates. You can't deny the poor benefit disproportionately well relative to the rich with social security and medicare.

this is why the vast majority of americans see progressives as a fucking joke

I never said it could. I'm saying that the rich don't create jobs either. Demand does.
