Where are some instances of people becoming human shields in cartoons?

*Astral dying after eating a lightning bolt to her back after she pushes Will out of the way. It was the first truly malicious thing the Guardians have seen Nerissa do, and not to mentioned ended up causing tension between Will and her mother.
*Cornelia and Taranee taking one for 'Phillip', even if he more or less shoved them in the way rather than the usual reverse.

Human shields can be an effective piece of drama if done right. A version that comes to mind is a certain G Gundam episode where Rain becomes a human shield due to being taken hostage by an enemy Gundam Fighter. The Gundam ends up hanging off a cliff whilst it's opponent (Neo-Russia's Bolt Gundam) looms in, seemingly going for the kill. However, fearing this circumstance, Rain's 'boss' Domon (who's own Gundam has been damaged) pleads with Bolt's pilot to instead save her, even offering up his own Gundam's head as payment (an act which would disqualify Domon from the tournament). Given how winning the Gundam Fight is the only way he can restore his family honour, it says alot of how much Domon cares about Rain.
 
In Megaman NT Warrior, Metalman takes a claw in the side for Megaman, almost getting deleted.

In Sailor Moon, when Luna jumps in front of Serena and gets hit by the "camera blast".
 
I remember there was an episode of Kids Next Door where Numbuh 2 jumped in front of Tommy taking a blast of snot from the Common Cold.
 
Derick Maza taking the needle of mutant serum for Xanatos when Sevarius tried to shoot him in 'Gargoyles'. Of course, later we see that it was all set up, as Xanatos EXPECTED Derick to jump in front of him to take the serum, but still.
 
Well, in my opinion, there are two kinds of human shields, ones where a person willingly shields another, and one where a person is forced/dragged into shielding another. An example of the latter would happen in The Fairly Oddparents. I believe that AJ grabbed Chester to shield himself from spitballs, or some other liquid projectile.
 
In season 1 of Digimon, Wizardmon takes the blow of Myotismon's Grisly Wing attack, protecting Kari and Gatomon from being harmed. Unfortunately, he gave his life away, protecting them.
