When your boyfriend leaves for boot camp when is the hardest part?

i'm 18 years old and have been dating the same guy for 3 years he has been my only serious relationship. he is 21 and has joined the army and finally doing something with his life that he is proud of himself and of course i am to i'm very happy for him and i really want him to do well. Scense he has been my only serious relationship we are "taking time apart" cause i'm going to college and well need to not just experience first year love but i love him as much as i know how to he is my best friend if you don't call him my boyfriend. its 100 percent mutal but if things work out right we will get back together, adn were gonna write and stay in touch with eachother in the mean time. but he leaves in a week and i feel as if i can keep my self busy after he leaves so i'm not just a depressed girl waiting for her first love to come home i want to be the girlt hat stayed strong and if things work out great if not it wasnt ment to be, but this week is killing me cause i'm actually facing reality how do u deel with this last week of being with him before he goes to boot camp and before he changes to becomes who he is going to be?
