the air inside the bike pump gets compressed which cause heat and that heat convects to the walls of the pump
 
I can only give you a non-scientific answer.
You have a roomful of air and a small cylinder in the corner. You then force all of the air into the cylinder. The cylinder will be very hot because all the heat that was in the room will be in the air compressed inside the cylinder. Allow the cylinder to cool to a 'normal' temperature and release the valve. If you let it blow onto your hand you will find it very cold.
