When you join the US military when do your medical beifits kick in.?

Ok so im joining this summer and i still have to finish my senior year, I am not doing the split option. I know i do not get my senior or signing bonus until after i go through basic training. So my question is when does my medical kick in, after i enlist or like the money after i finish basic.

Your immediate medical and dental coverage starts as soon as the ship date on your orders.

If you had unreported preexisting conditions that make you ineligible for service, you could be chaptered out of the service under the "fraudulent enlistment" clause, so make sure you report any pre existing problems to your recruiter before ship date.

If you become sick or get hurt or injured while at basic, you will receive medical treatment. ( Be aware that if you get injured and are unable to perform your job in the military, you may be subject to separation.)

Medical kicks in the day you sign the contract and ship to Basic.

My husband is just know finishing up basic at Ft. Jackson...as soon as you get to basic training you get medical, they do a full physical, dental and eye check. You have medical right away.

After your sworn in, as long it is not something that would have kept you out of the service in the first place that you withheld.
