When you flash your phone to MetroPCS using MetroPCSFlash, does the internet work?

I have read a little about flashing phones, and I know that metro pcs says you need a certain model, as I am no technical expert, so I saw they (metropcs) offer a service to flash over phones. But I saw they said only text and talk, does that mean that once a phone is flashed over, that it can no longer access the internet? I thought MetroPCS's $40/month paid for talk text AND web. I'm confused.
