Well, I am in the middle of writing a novel, and I just finished chapter 9. Chapter 9 however had to do with something that I found best to describe using lots of numbers, but I think I over did it and I don't know another way to get an accurate picture into my readers head. Like in one paragraph you may find about 3 different numbers describing how long or high or whatever something was, but it may have to do with lets say an obstacle course, where you need the reader to be able to see the course in thier head as the character runs though it. The book has a lot of action in it, and for action to happen you really need to know the area in my opinion.
What do you think? Should I try to cut down on the descriptions that contain numbers? Or is it alright?
