When writing a book is it okay to?

If the book is in third person, is it okay for the prologue to be in first? I kind of want it to be like a letter to the reader, in a way. My story is set in the future, so I was planning on making the prologue be a letter written to the past by my main character saying how things are much different and that there are a lot of problems.
