When will the Obama administration prove the validity of their heath care

takeover plan by open debate? Couldn't the gain overwhelming support for their plan by pulling off an unquestionable victory in an open debate with opponents of Obamacare ?

There has never been an "open" debate on any piece of legislation Obama has attempted to pass since he took office. From day one it was "I WON" and Obama has not met with even one leading Republican since May of 2009. So for Obama to say his door is open is another lie in itself . Further more all Republican amendments in the bill were removed in committee which really slammed to the door shut even further.

An open debate would be nice. The problem is the Democrats haven't read the bill (as currently written). Could be a huge stumbling block, the folks against the bill, Liberal, Conservative, Democrat and Republican as well as Independents, who have read the bill would win; hands down. People like Pelosi, Reed, Frank etc would be unable to carry an issue beyond name calling. But, then the Democrats would probably call that a victory, since that is what they have been so good at for the last decade.

What do you call hundreds of town hall meetings, speeches to Congress, floor debates in Congress, and hearings?

Looks like "open debate" to me.

But your expectation for any debate is unrealistic. This is a policy proposal. No proposal has ever been "proven valid" in a debate. All that will ever happen is that people will get a chance to make the best arguments they can.

OMG have to actually answer questions with specifics. Not going to happen. Right now all we get is speeches that we are wrong about what is in black and white right in front of our faces. If there were a debate the questions would have to be "Since HR 3200 does not say abortions will not be covered, is it possible they can be?" "What will happen as a result of these audits and what will happen to the employees of these companies that have service suspended due to the non-compliance decided by the Commissioner, and how will the Commission decided if non compliance will or will not ever happen again" These are exact questions to the core of the bill and maybe just maybe we will get answers, but I am sure he will respond with the same "I have told you before and I will tell you again the bill does not say that abortions will be covered" re 2nd "I have said and will say again you will be able to keep your insurance company" Will he actually answer these questions with facts? He can't because if he did the entire country would be against it not just those that can see what is not there as well as what is.

Per Obama, it's not up for debate. It never has been. And, according to a report last week on the AP, he is writing his own bill in case he does not like what is presented to him. Think about it, he's no longer in the Legislative. It's no longer his job. So much for representation and checks and balance. Can you say "Dictatorship?"

A debate will expose the myths and truths concerning universal ghetto care. There will be no debates. It will be shoved down your throat, like it or not. You have no say anymore in America. You will do as you are told and shut your big fat mouth or subject yourself to Joe the Plumber Government tactics. The beatings will continue until morale improves.

A highly publicized televised debate might be a good idea. The opponents of the health care reform plan would be too ashamed to present their lies in front of millions of viewers. The opponents might actually have to come up with some legitimate criticisms and then they would lose the debate.

Can't debate with screaming ranters....pointless, anyway....once someone behaves in that fashion, they lose all credibility as someone possessing the intelligence necessary to participate in any sort of civilized meeting.

We don't even put up with that sort of behavior at local school board meetings.... if you can't behave, you are simply OUSTED....but we are more than willing to hear you out if you follow standard meeting rules...

I would love to see the Dems explain some of the things in the bill - like how no new private policies can be written once the bill takes effect, and how that jibes with their claim that our private insurance won't be affected.

I'd like to know how no illegal aliens will be covered if we don't ask for proof of legal residency, and if we allow an entire family to be covered if one person is a legal resident.

How about the provision that if you choose to keep private insurance, the IRS can check both your medical and your financial records. And those of your employer.

No.

2+2=4 my friend.

In open debate the holes in the plan would be exposed.

Why is the most admired country on earth wanting to follow the workings of less successful countries?

Many of those countries are trying to extradite themselves from socialized health care because of the inherent problems, yet we are just getting in?

WHY?

Seen C-SPAN??? It has been debated for months. House members have had their say. The public doesn't care. Maybe if they put 3 judges consisting of a basket-case, a Brit and a has-been on C-SPAN and require you to text via AT&T, people would show more interest.
