When will the new web browser come out?

The new web browser is nice but quite honestly I think web browsing is still better on the E61/62 with that extra real estate. The N95 has a 2.6 inch screen and the E61/62 has a 2.75 inch screen and the difference is easily as dramatic as the N73's 2.4 to the N95's 2.6. I hate to say it but the Big E's are still king of the jungle when it comes to web browsing. Full qwerty and a massive screen has me set on getting at least an E61i when the prices come way way way down. E90 perhaps but I've got to generate some serious scratch for that as I just blew my phone funds on my N95.
 
The new web browser, though not too different from the original is way better. The biggest plus for me is stability. I've had very few memory errors and it doesn't close like it used to unless I beat the hell out of it. Surprised the hell out of me when I was able to keep Symella, the Web browser, and Messaging open without any of them crashing.

I wouldn't be surprised if it comes with a new firmware instead of a downloadable sis file.
 
Guys, I'm talking about the new web browser that is on the newer feature pack 1 phones will be downloadable for the E61. I read that somewhere (maybe Darla Macks blog) and haven't heard much since. I just want to make sure we are talking about the same thing.
 
I know exactly what you're talking about and I agree, we haven't heard anything since. It was either on www.e-series.org or darla mack... can't remember.

I'm hoping it replaces the stupid service browser, too, and changes the default browser to the new one.
 
From what I remember, Jonathan Greene reported hearing it from someone at the Night With S60 event in NYC about a month ago, saying in about a month. So really, it should be any day now.

Honestly, I think it'll be a .sis file. Think about it. Develop 1 .sis file or redo firmwares for how many different devices? Good riddance, I say, there's 2 more icons banished to the "Crap" folder...
 
I tell ya, a bunch of people are getting new E61i's and N95's and such. I would, but I just LOVE my E61 and its worked brilliantly for me. Any time away from by beloved E61 is too long at this point. Getting the browser issue fixed on it WOULD be something that I would take time out of my day to install!!!!!
 
So far, the only benefit of the new browser I've found is that links in your email are opened as ful HTML pages instead of in the crappy services browser. Other than that, I've had out of memory messages a few times, and it's completely shut itself down about 5 or more times. This is with no programme open at the time but the browser.
