When will the Lexapro...........start

To work on my anxiety? Does the anxiety get worse...........before better?

Klonoplin? (SP)...........yeah, I think so...........I just took 10mgs of Lexapro last night.................moved up from 5mgs...........

I hate this illness........stinks.......
 
Good work - you are now at the theraputic dose of Lexapro.

The Klonopin should help ease your anxiety while you're waiting for the Lex to start working - have you tried the Klonopin yet? I hope you feel better real soon.

Yes, I tried it this morning,,,,,,,,,feeling a little anxiety from the upper dose. It indeed seem to help.........

I just waiting for the full effects of the Lex to kick it. Still have a few weeks to go to get the full benefits........not even been on it a week yet.

Generaly, it will take a coule of weeks after you hit the 10mg per day doseage (some people get relief in 1 week, some take upto 3 or 4, but 2 is an average)

It might be an idea to ask your doc for a 2 week course of a benzodiazepine tranquiliser (Valium, Ativan, Klonopin) to cover you for this initial 2 weeks. There is no risk of dependence in a 2 week course.
 
Dont be afraid to take the klonopin regularly for a couple of weeks (say one twice a day if thats the dose your doc has ok'd) - it will make you feel so much better, and there is no risk of dependence in a 2 week course. By that time the Leapro should be doing its thing quite well for you, and you can then just take a Klonopin when you feel the need, if you're having a bad day.

I did talk to my dr. and he did give me something for the anxiety til the lex kicks in.

Started on 10mgs tonight, from 5.............thinking I will feel better soon.

I could NOT tolerate the high does of Inderal..........80mgs..........just made me bla.............
 
Lexapro seems like a monster at first, but when it kicks in, it is amazing. Hang in there and I promise, if Lexapro is the right drug for you, your mood and outlook will improve.
 
Thank you downtowntiger....... am on week two and a half and 10 mgs ...just a little tired. Starting to work.........slowly.

How long did it take for it to work for you?
