When will the gay rights debate be settled one way or the other?

When do you think this thing will be over? Hopefully the senate will pass an amendment to make marriage, and all other partnerships between 1 man and 1 woman, although this is highly, highly, unlikely. More likely is the supreme court will ignore the will of the states and declare all laws, statutes, and state constitutions barring same sex marriage/partnerships unconstitutional, like they did with sodomy laws in 2003.
What do you think will happen?
McOldie, the thing that the south is upset about, is not losing the war of northern agression, but the fact that ever since then the government has choked us more and more

When people finally realize that there are more important things to care about & that marriage is nothing but a piece of paper that causes nothing more than legal complications. That being said, if a gay or lesbian couple wants to get married... who really cares? Will it effect your everyday life? probably not. It will just give you yet another menial thing to bitch about while people in places like Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine, etc... die everyday & have their families torn apart. If you really cared about family values, you would be more concerned about these atrocities than some gay people getting married.

not soon enough unfortunately there are those that would rather see people unhappy then just letting marriage be between who ever loves each other!

It's going to take a Constitutional Amendment and a Supreme Court decision to finally establish a precedent either one way or the other.
