When will my fighting fish make a bubble nest?

I have a male fighting fish who can't build a bubbly nest! I really want to breed them but i cant without the nest. Everytime he makes a bubble at the surface it pops! Is there something wrong with him? Can i do something to help? and How long does it take to make a small bubble nest?
 
Get a clean Styrofoam coffee cup. cut it in half, long ways and the float this face down on the water. This gives him a place to anchor his nest. Also some breeders use a piece of bubble wrap, cut to size.

You could put a peice of styraphoam cup at the top (ONLY A PEICE) lol. i saw that a while ago when i was thinking about breeding my bettas.
 
It is because the temperature isnt warm. When the temperature is 72 degrees f or higher then your betta will build a bubble nest
