My dog just had puppies this morning and I was wondering when she would stop being aggressive. I know that when they're newborns, the mother will be protective and bark at you, but when will she let you touch /hold them? Right now, she doesn't let us pet her or the pups. When?
I don't think I can "teach" her to stop being aggressive. She's been in her whelping space since night and she won't leave the puppies, which I understand.
You guys are saying bring her to the vet? Why? Won't most mothers be protective? They have babies and they want to take care of them, as do I. There's nothing wrong with her; she's nice and healthy. She's just being a bit aggressive, especially to our other dogs. MY MAIN QUESTION IS WHEN WILL SHE LET US TOUCH THEM.
