When will Motorola Defy be upgraded to Android 2.2 in Europe?

Recently saw a Motorola Defy and liked it, but what put me off that it was 2.1. However then saw Motorola had a 2.3 update, so bought it. Tried to update but to my annoyance, no way!

Upon further research found they only provide update to France, not Holland where I am at the moment.

Thanks Motorola, one easy lesson in how to piss off new customers!

Really stupid behaviour , why not put 2.2 on as standard, which every other manufacturer has managed to do!
Shame really-Apart from that its nice phone.

They will just alienate future customers with this stupidity- a big company like that should be able to do better than putting outdated software on their phones!

Question is when will they supply the 2.2 update to the rest of Europe?
 
I heard that T-Mobile rolled out Android 2.2(froyo) updates OTA(Over-The-Air) over Europe and US but they did not specify about Netherlands. But to update on my DEFY I had to go About Phone-->Options-->Search for updates. t gave me an 122MB update. I put on WiFi and downloaded it. It's a major update for DEFY. I live in India
