When was the law established that you have to be Christian to celebrate Christmas?

what else would you be celebrating- imagine someone celebrated your birthday and forgot about you huh? Logistically you don't make any sence if you think about it.

No law; it just sort of logically follows. How many people who aren't Jewish celebrate Hanukkah? How many non-Muslims celebrate Ramadan?

Christmas (Hence the word Christ) is a Christian holiday because it's the celebration of Jesus Christ our Savior.

So it only makes sense that you're a believer to celebrate it, unless you celebrate the commercial version of it...

It was decided in a Supreme Court case in 1892 -- Big Fat Dookie Dumbheads v. Common Sense.

ya they just think since they have so many letters in common they own the whole thing.

There is no such law.

Go in peace.

Jesus loves you!!

Merry Christmas!

Sincerely,
Uncle Floyd

Funny, the only thing i ever hear are nonbelievers who wish to make laws to band Christians from celebrating Christmas.....

i haven't heard it either. ask the christians. they think the laws are completely up to them.

Why is it 2008 and people STILL dont understand that christmas is a PAGAN holiday that has nothing to do with "jesus"... all you have to do is look it up.. so anyone can celebrate the birth of nimrod's son... anyone..just cause so many are fooled doesnt mean that its right..lies are powerful..and obvious

Its not the law.

But if we catch you godless atheists putting up christmas lights we'll egg your house.

So you watch yourself, buddy.

;)

There isn't! Its a pagan Holilday! Its all good for family and friends to come together on this Dec 25 but it has nothing to do with christanity!

In the first place, Christmas is not a Bible doctrine. If our blessed Lord had wanted us to celebrate His birthday, He would have told us when to celebrate it and how to celebrate it. But Christ never told anyone to celebrate His birthday. Furthermore, we know from the Bible and from church his story that the apostles and the early church never celebrated Christ's birthday.

In fact, there are only two birthday celebrations recorded in the Bible; and each of them is connected with murder. The Bible tells us in Genesis 40:22 that on one of Pharaoh's birthdays he murdered his chief baker while a big celebration was going on. The other birth day celebration recorded was that of Herod, when he had John the Baptist murdered. I personally believe that God purposely records these two birthday celebrations to warn and to teach us-and to show us that the Lord has no pleasure in birthday celebrations or anniversaries.

God's people are supposed to be Bible people. We're supposed to live by the teaching of God's holy Word. So the very fact that Christmas is never mentioned in the Bible is sufficient reason for us not to have anything to do with it. But that's not all. Christ Not Born
On December 25

Another reason why I don't celebrate Christmas is that it's filled with unscriptural traditions. The exchanging of gifts, the Christmas tree, the singing of carols, and Santa Claus are all of pagan origin. These all crept into the church during or after the Fourth Century.

Before the separation of church and state so it must be a LONG time ago.

Merry Christmas to ALL!

The Pagans did not call this particular holiday "Christmas." The word "Christmas" originated from the Christian religion. If you belong to a different creed(religion) you probably call it something else, and you also may have different customs. If your an Atheist you're just celebrating a day that you get more stuff, and a day that you can spend with family/friends; it is a day off from work too.

Edit: The idea of Santa came from the original man named Saint Nicholas. This man was a catholic priest who would make toys and deliver them to the children in nearby villages.
The real Santa Clause wasn't magical by any means, but he was a priest from the faith of Christianity and a good man.

There is not a law, people can celebrate anything they want these days. Some people celebrate Christmas because of the presents, christmas trees, and christmas lights.
As a Christian, I celebrate Christmas because it is a small reminder of who was born more than 2000 years ago, to be crucified on a cross and die for my sin, and everyone else in the world. Jesus' Birth, is why I celebrate Christmas.
Hope this helps you understand.
-God bless you, and Merry Christmas! :)

There is no law. The really interesting thing is that Chrismas was not created originally by christians, it was a pagan holiday that was adopted by christians. Research Saturtenalia and you will see.

1872 under the act of congress however it dosnt matter there is nothign christian about a fat red sooted judge named staten clawse oh i mean santa clouse oh no i dont
