When walking your dogs outdoors/ on wooded trails do you...?

I like to take my dogs on this path that was originally where the old train tracks ran. Of course mother nature has taken over and there is lots of brush and bushes around, along with fields. It goes for quite awhile and it's good exercise for both me and my dogs as well as they can sniff things to their hearts content.

So far we have only seen two white tailed deer and a coyote run across our paths, but I was wondering if I should carry some bear spray or some other form of repellant/defense in case some wild animal comes after us?

Would that be likely? The animals we have seen run away from us, but I'm not going to lie I get scared sometimes when I hear rustling in the bushes, thinking some crazed animal is going to come after us. Particularly skunks...I wouldn't want to get sprayed!

Maybe I'm just being a chicken, but what do you think? Would it be wise for be to bring something with me for protection and for my dogs? Or should I be okay. I live in Saskatchewan, Canada so we are home to bears, skunks, foxes, racoons you name it...most typical North American wildlife!
