PLS HELP. This is the last one and these are the choices. My book is confusing me. Thanks

a. the sum of the degrees of freedom for the two samples.
b. the degrees of freedom for sample 1, divided by the sum of the degrees of freedom for both samples.
c. the average of the degrees of freedom for the two samples.
d. the sum of the two sample sizes, minus one.
