When typing in the messaging application

Somtimes when I am going to the messaging application and i click in the box to type back to someone it will not type in the box, I have to exit the typing screen and then come back to it, then it types fine, anyone else have this issue? Anyone know of a fix for this?
 
I use handcent and I run into that problem maybe once every 2 -3 months. Don't have a fix, I just live with it. I'm using an N1 with CyanMod nightlies.
 
I am using the stock messenger application so idk whats going on with this,

It happens a lot on my phone tho, I might be able to get 10 messages between it happening.
 
I recall reading this when the N1's first came out where some people were having that issue. If I recall correctly, the solution was to use the trackball instead of your finger when it happened and that permitted typing. Not a fix, but a workable solution and faster than going out and back in as you are doing now.

Ive never heard of that issue. My wife has a galaxy s and the text message works perfect. do a factory reset. Or if u just got it, take it back right away. show your service provider the issue.

But hands down dude, thats a glich.
 
It happened a lot on my Droid before the 2.2 update. Not since though.
One work around I found was to add a subject (found in the menu) then skip the subject and it will type again.
