when trying to install cd player two wires touched sparked and smoked?

i replaced the correct fuse but i still get no power. What did i do?

fuses are there for this reason... just reinforcing what the others have said, check the fuses, there may be (like on mine) an inline fuse on the power wire to the radio as well as fuses on the back of the cd player itself. Does your domelight work or cigerette lighter work? these are generally on the same fuse as the radio, so check under the hood for blown fuses as well. Good luck and hope you didn;t fry the cd player.

You could have the negative in the positive slot, and the positive in the negative slot.

Or you could have overloaded the wires themselves.
