We just found out were having a baby Feb 16th. Sister in law just had her baby on 7/7/09. We knew when she had the baby but decided to wait until theyve had some time to settle in, but we want to tell them right away, how soon is too soon, oh and grandma and grandpa dont know yet either, we plan to tell them all at once, but with the arrival of the first grand-baby, we werent sure when to announce it.

Wait until you're 12 weeks. You're chances of a miscarriage have dropped a lot by then, and it will have given your brother and his wife some time to settle in with their child too.

Really, if you want to, tell everyone now! They're still going to be excited for you. I actually found out I was pregnant on the day one of my friends had her baby... I didn't tell her right then, but the next day I messaged her on MySpace, thinking that she wouldn't check it for a few weeks. WRONG! Lol, she was still just as happy as could be for us though!!

My mom had been wanting grandbabies for a while... now my oldest sister is pregnant... due Sept. 7, I'm due November 3rd, my older sister is due December 31st, and my brother and his wife are expecting now too. I can tell you my parents were all very excited to hear they were having more grandkids!

thats a tough situation...idk i wouldnt want them to feel like you are trying to steal their thunder...new baby and all...id give them 3-4 weeks after the babys born before you tell them...if you really think they will be upset that you are having a baby too...

i know if i had a baby and my sister in law announced she was pregnant too, id be thrilled!! so it depends on their personalities really..

good luck

Quick and swift. The sooner the better. When ever you get your 1st ultrasound picture you could start a small blog for the family , and have them check it out for updates.
