When to take a pregnancy test?

I'm not sure when the earliest time I am able to take a pregnancy test. My last period ended around Monday, the 7th of September and I had intercourse on, I believe September 12th. We only had it in for a few seconds when we realized what we were doing (unprotected). When is the soonest time I can take a pregnancy test????
