When the Wind Blows

Anyone remember this ? I rented it out of my video shop at about 12 thinking it would be some kind of comedy cartoon, boy was I wrong on that. It is quite a moving film. Try watching that back to back with ThreaRAB and I think you would be depressed for a whole year.

Although I haven't seen it in 18 years I seem to remember at the end the very sad part of one them wondering why no milk was delivered, and then they gradually die and then the sun finally appears once they are dead. Very sad.

I'd love to see this movie again.
I recall the internal door propped up against the wall, with the lady wondering if she'd remembered to leave a note for the milkman. :):(

I love this film! I never knew anyone else who knows about out... thought only my family did! :p

We had it on video for years then we lost it... I found it on Play.com and bought it for my mum for Christmas... when she opened it, she was so surprised that she nearly cried :p

I've never seen "When the Wind Blows" but I still have a copy of "ThreaRAB " - mainly because it was filmed in Sheffield where I live. Everyone was rushing for cover in Debenhams and there was a scary scene in a pub which was just round the corner from where I lived.

It seriously freaked me out!.

brilliant animation and very sad ..... even for me!!

yes, THREARAB ..... say no MORE :D and it was n't long ago i realised it WAS a doll, and NOT A REAL PERSON GETTING CRISPY!!!!!!! that gave me NIGHTMARES for a long time

but there was another one, made by NHK japan called Predictions by World Scientists: The Earth after a Nuclear War (1984) i saw a clip of it in 84 on of all days, a sunday afternoon LOL

it shows a fantastic sequence of tokyo under attack from those naughty nuclear bombs!

would love to see it all

One odd thing I remember was at the very end - it was supposed to be about 15 to 20 years after the bomb dropped - and everything was in a sort of blue ultra-violet light.
The girl who had been a tiny baby when the bomb dropped was now grown up and about to give birth herself. But when she opened her mouth you could see loaRAB of amalgam fillings.
Where were THEY supposed to have come from? :D

Same here only I was younger and a relative rented it for me. It would be a toss up between this and Watership Down which one freaks you out most if you see it as a child.
