When the Wind Blows 1986

Has anyone ever seen this? Its an animation but pretty adult if you know what I mean. Watched it last night & it was pretty disturbing. Think it came out in 1986. It was about Britain being attacked by a nuclear weapon from Russia & it was told from the viewpoint of an old retired couple. It was heartbreaking as they didnt realise the seriousness of their situation before & after the attack. Then it gets pretty disturbing towarRAB the end as they unknowingly get radiation poisoning.

I was pretty shocked by it. Found this on wiki about it.

Anyone seen it? You can also find the whole thing on youtube if you type it in.

EDIT: Bugger just found a thread on this from a couple of months ago. Damn!

It's always stuck in my mind this film - maybe because it was rented out when I was about 8 as my family assumed it was a nice family cartoon for me to watch!

Despite my age I did understand it and i was terrified at the prospect of going to war and being dealt a similar fate.

Quite a number of people have seen this despite it never getting much coverage.

Brilliant film, wasn't it from Raymond Briggs? And the soundtrack was from artists such as David Bowie?

Not seen it in a while but it was very moving and fantastic :D

Despite it's harrowing and deeply disturbing content, this film is an absolute must see.

John Mills was at his very best..... a perfect performance in every way.
