when the magnification is increased on a microscope, what happens to the field of view?

when looking at a specimen through a microscope using a 10X objective lens and a 10X eyepiece, the magnification is 100X and also you have a field of view which, let's say it's 'y'. if I changed the Objective to 40X and still on the 10X eyepiece, that will give us 400X as TM. what exactly happens to the field of view? does it increase or decrease?
