...evil w/o an objective morality"? ...aside from the obvious appeal to consequence by invoking this supposed need in order to justify the actual existence of God rather than the pragmatic benefits of his actually existing, how does the introduction of an absolute, universal, unchanging, divine, moral lawgiver change the dynamics of any conversation with a man like Hitler, who himself believed in an absolute, universal, unchanging, divinely-commanded moral system?
In short, as a practical matter, exactly how does invoking God (whether he exists or not) do anything to change the dynamics of any moral conversation with Hitler when neither side is capable of moral change, growth, development, or concession? Isn't this just a recipe for ethical stalemate, and thus not some killer argument for the obvious supremacy of divinely commanded, eternally fixed, and immutable moral laws?
Thanks.
