when should i take a pregnancy test?

well my last period was on 8-22-09. i pretty much have sex every weekend and i'm not on birth control and i don't use a condom. i'm supposed to start my period on the 19th 3 days ago and i haven't yet. i'm never late. and i took a pregnancy test today and it was negative. so is it too Early?
 
a test can let u know 5 days before Miss period .maybe u need go find out if u don' have a std.an started wearing condoms
