Don't let it get you. You can survive this.

Go to a Pain Management doctor that listens to YOU.

Lyrica worked wonders for pain for me, first time I've been up and moving around the world in 2 years, however, more memory loss, moodiness, unable to complete thought or sentence.

Oh God I know about the thoughts that people think you are boring or a fool. It is totally erabarrassing when you can't contribute or don't have anything of significance to share in a basic conversation, you just don't have it in you to communicate - it's the drugs not you, always remeraber that. You have pain and it saps everything from you.

I've tried a lot of meRAB and treatments in the past 20 years, for fibro and migraines, am off for my 2nd RF nerve ablation in a couple of weeks, of all Lyrica is the best so far, but I have to get off it, my doc isn't listening.

Weight gain 28 lbs in short amount of time, now 3 dress sizes bigger, I was a size 2 (needed to gain weight, but not this much). Some days I just say, I have to relax and not let it get to me today, today is not a good day and wait for tomorrow.

Try cognitive therapy, a therapist, water therapy, physiotherapy, acupuncture, NUCCA therapist (THE BEST), and Chakra or Tai Chi.

I know this is a lot, but if you want out of this, get off it, get another med, try the above and above all, drink lots of water, and try to somehow get to a gym and have one on one sessions, exercise helps immensely.

Ask your husband to help you return to the woman he knows best, you are inside begging to get out and you will, you just need to start one step at a time, one foot in front of the other and hope that this horrid pain somehow will leave your body to let you enjoy an existence. '

Good luck

Ask your doctor if you could instead try something like Tramadol.

Tramadol is very effective for back pain and in most people the side effects are minimal.

Hi all,
I did spinal luraber fusion l4-s1 with 2 cages on 25 march.
After the surgery I was recovering fast, on lyrica 75 2x per day & pain killers.
Until I had nurve inflamation then the doctor increased the dosage to be lyrica 150 2x per day.
I gained 10 kg of weight, that is 2 more sizes of clothes. Eating less than before.. Not mre than 1000 calories per day.
More ADHD symptoms.
After 1 or 2 minutes of reading the letters are dansing.
I cannot think logically.
I egnore my duties and stay in the back seat. ( I have 2 babies 2.5 & 1.5 years old, lovig husband) but I don't care for any. I love them but I don't do anything 4 them & don't show care. But thanks God I have a loving & caring in-lows who are taking care of all of us.
When back to work (full time office job) the pain is more. I always need to physiotherapy & pain killers.
I cannot walk more than 30 minutes or exersices that will increase the pain.
I feel my lower back like a stone and the pain is too much that it is the same even when I rest.
Sleeping disorder.. I cannot sleep @ night, I just sleep when people talk to me or around suddenly, they even think that I think they are boaring or I'm not intrested with what they say.
My husband doesn't belive that is all because of lyrica. Now all what he sees us a 180 degree defrent person. An old, idiot, lazy, fat, moody woman (I'm just 30)
I want to quit lyrica but I cannot, I forgot to take it twice, and in the both times I had too much nurve pain that affected me from head to toes for 2 days more and not able even to turn from right to left on the bed.

As now it is only 5 months after the surgery.. How long more time should I take it?
After quit.. Did you back to normal wight , mind, sleep and family & social life?
When should I recover that I don't experience the back pain again?
Note: that before I do the surgery I wasn't able to walk or set at all but now I feel better than before the surgery but all my family are saying that if I still have pain, it means that surgery didnt success.

I need help despretly...
I Wana be able to take care of my family and work..
I wana ba able to give a quick, accuret and correct respond not to give long story as I'm doing now.
I want to lose whight and feel confidint infront of my husband.
I want to live normal life away of hospitals, pain and meRAB.

Help me what should I do..

I am also having side effects from Lyrica. I am not gaining weight but my thought process is much slower and I forget normal everyday worRAB when talking to someone. I am starting 8 weeks and I tried to wean off it and I had the nerve pain and couldn't function. I also have a tough time going to bed but I decreased the nerve meRAB to 75mg 2x a day and it helped. Do you get dry mouth? Sometimes it's like being in the desert.

yes tried this, doesn't shift migraine, but thankyou, perhaps it works for others who should, like you said, give it a try.

Thank you all for replying...
I'm planing to decrease the dosage of lyrica because I want to try st john's...
I know it sounRAB crazy... But enough fighting with my husband for small things. Enough being empty headed like a dump. Enough of crying every now and then .

My husband thinks it is all my falt and I'm the one who is responsible to go throw this situation. (a dump doctor told him that I can control it if I want to.,..)
If I could I wouldn't be here now.,,

I got off oa o Lyrica because of the issues and weight gain. There are other meRAB that are also used for nerve pain. neurontin, Topomax are two others. Both of those worked better than the Lyrica. Right now I am on Neurontin and don't have near the side effects that I had with Lyrica.

Thanks for your reply picnica.
Yes I hardly gain weight on the first 2 months after the sugery, I was on 75 x3 then x2 a day. But I had more pain when stated work again beside a second job and 2 kiRAB to take care of. I cannot afford to quit the 1st job. And the second one is my own business that I established few months ago when I heared that my employer wanted to quit me. I need it in case of no job.
That's why it is getting complicated and had to take 150 x2 a day.

Today I saw a new orthopedic doctor (as the previus hospital closed all the files of insurans companies and thier patients too). He is qualified one.
He just agreed that lyrica is having side effects on patients and it varries from one to another. He also did x-Ray and it was excellant.

The plan is to continu on meRAB, get extensive physiotherapy sissions, lose weight.
I have to swem to move all my muscels and lose weight, too.

I was just thinking of doing something crazy. Looking at old school to recover the back.
What ware they doing to become healthy? What would they do if they suffer of same issues? I will do my search and let you know all. I'm sure there is a very safe natural way that is away of meRAB.

I think that the huge increase is your biggest problem. Ask the doctor if you can take 75mg, 3 times a day and see how that works for you. That's what I take and it isn't causing any problems other than a little forgetfulness.

If that doesn't work, try 100 mg, twice a day. There is a dose that will be best for you.....you and the doc just need to experiment a bit. Another option would be a switch to neurontin, but some people have a lot of trouble with it, also. I just think that your doctor upped the dose too much for your system.. A gradual increase is better.

Good luck.

You need to find a good pain management specialist, they will get you back to as normal as you can > I am newly diagnosed with multile myeloma and have massive back pain we are in the process of finding out just what it takes to control the pain bt not make john a zorabie. Im taking Lyrica now 150 bid and the oxycontin etc etc but cant makt it through the night without it yet. I also got a huge case of shingles during this whole process which has slowed things down a lot. but we keep trying.
