I bought a brand new 2010 Toyota Corolla in November and I currently have 1021 miles. My boyfriend told me I should change it at 1000 miles because of the "break-in" period with the medal shavings in the oil. So I called Toyota to see how much they charged and the service guy told me its too soon, it doesnt need to be changed until 5000 miles and at 4500 miles a light will come on to remind you. So is it still a good idea to get an oil change now or would it be a waste and hold off until 5000 miles??
