At my school, we get laptops when we enter 9th grade. The laptops have deep freeze, "My Documents" being the thaw space. They have Websense on them, which blocks most fun things on the internet.
My dad said that I may be able to sidestep the blocks if I were to run firefox from a flash drive. I went to portableapps.com and downloaded the platform "Suite Light". When i run firefox from this, there are no blocks.
The school is allowed to take our laptops at any time and search to make sure we are not accessing restricted sites, or have downloaded games on the computer, or are hacking it in any way.
Someone at school today said that even when running your browser off of a flash drive, the school can still find ways to figure out what websites you have visited. Is this true, and in what ways? Is there some way I can delete that as well? I would rather not get suspended.
