When playing a Barre Chord on Guitar do I use the Palm Side of my Index...

...finger or the Side of it? I never figured that out and it might help my playing to know.

You mainly use the fleshy part of the finger... so the palm side I guess. Your finger naturally lays kinda sideways though. I'd say it's 70/30 palm/side

If you actually use the side, then your other fingers can't reach the strings.
