do they ever stop to think why can't our own fan base be really true fans and support their team no matter what and sell out most regular season games. If you think it's unfair then blame your own fan base for not being true dedicated fans and fill the seats of your stadium the majority of the nights. If you did that then we wouldn't ever have this argument and all things would be a lot more equal than they are now. I mean I have supported and went to every New Jersey Nets home game when they were 12-70 why can't Pirates fans or any other low market team be like that. I'm dedicated when one of my teams is historically bad why can't other fans be the same.
Alright well guess what the merchandise sales hinder of people's dedication to coming to the ball games. If no one comes to the games then naturally no one is going to buy the merchandise. If more people came to Pirates games and sold out every night then there would be greater tv networks and more merchandise so eat on that.
