When my brother changed my plugs on my 97 mazda milinia there was oil where the plug

goes whats wrong? my car knocks it has 247,000 miles i know that is a lot but i don't have the money for a new car I have been permanently laid off and i am going to school will graduate college in dec. Will it last that long I drive 150 miles round trip 4 days a week to go to school? Is there anything I can do to make it last?
 
valve cover leak 90 % of time migth just be loose dont over tighten it just hand tight screws might get by might also replace gasket most cheap do at home thing
 
Engine knocks and has 1/4 million miles 600 miles a day. I hate to burst your bubble, your on borrowed time. Frequent oil changes with Lucas oil treatment may make the motor last a little longer. Mazda is a timing belt motor and that belt could break do you know when it was changed last? OIL around the spark plugs is caused by valve cover gasket spark plug well seals. Do not drive harshly take it easy and with a little luck your education will allow you to get a good job and a new car. Find a friend to live with near the campus soon.
