actually used ? I had always thought that you connect the Negative terminal on a ground point on the dead car. The remote Negative terminal is connected to the negative terminal on the battery, so wouldn't it be just like connecting the cable right to the negative node on the battery ?
This is not the first time I have jump started a car by the way... but it is the first time I have jumpstarted THIS car, and I dont really feel like busting up the electrical system so I was wondering then why, if connecting the neg cable to any ground is like connecting the neg terminal, why connect it to the ground and not the neg terminal ? All other times jumping I connect pos - pos, neg - engine block. Never seen a remote neg terminal marked "negative jump terminal", that seems in fact, kind of useless if I could simply connect to the frame, engine block, and so on.
