about suceeding from the union and how they could function as two countries what do you think might be in that letter?
i dont want you to write it for me just little pointers

First thing first, Jefferson Davis would NOT have sent a letter to Lincoln like that. Even at the end of the war, Jefferson Davis still wanted to fight. He hated Lincoln for calling up troops to squash the "Rebellion" Jefferson Davis finally became a citizen of the U.S. again in 1978.

His letter would be lengthy in its content but without the flowery repose of someone simply ending a relation. It would explain why he could not continue on with his position in the House as the Union doctrine was so different than his own. It explains how he long believed the sovereign states had a right to follow their own doctrines and that although he loved the Constitution, forefathers, etc., he did not believe that it was being followed as it was written.

His letter would be authoritative yet respectful, without malice, contrition, or excuses.

Sounds like a homework assignment. Sorry, in order to learn you need to do your own work. But I will tell you this...there would have been a lot of politeness. That's how those people were back then.
