When it comes to YA novels, how much is too much?

Being just 20 years old and an aspiring fiction author, I feel most comfortable with the YA market because my high school memories are still fresh. However, it seems as if there has been a bit of a shift in what today's YA readers (and publishers) are looking for. When it comes to writing, I don't hold anything back. Though I was not--by any means--a wild teenager, I saw a lot of crazy stuff happen, and this is what I like to write about. I don't know of any popular authors to compare myself to, but if any of you are from the UK and regularly tune in to E4, my novels kind of play out like an episode of Skins (though maybe without as much bad language lol). But I feel like this kind of stuff is too much for most readers now days. If you looks at what is selling (stuff like Twilight), these novels mostly focus on strait-laced, virginal teenagers, and that has kind of become the norm for popular YA. So my question is, to fellow YA readers and writers, how much is TOO much for you when it comes to sexuality, profanity, and drug use?
Sorry you guys, but if you could, please report Mrs. Donna Daskalu. It seems that she's a bit lost :\
