Its scary because kids are getting pregnant as young as 12 and 13 these days. Honestly when i was a teen sex was the last thing on my mind. My academics came first, my pets came next. And sex just wasn't something I thought about.

Infact I didn't even know about it until i was 15 I think, and still didn't care.

I waited until i was with the man I was going to marry, I didn't wait until marraige but until after I was engaged, we lived together for awhile before we got married.

Anyways it scares me because we have a daughter on the way and I want to keep her pure and innocent and I don't want her knowing of such things for a very long time.

But then kids are doing it a lot younger now.

How do you know when the time is right to give that talk?

(The only talk I ever had was about periods and boobs and body changing, never about sex. Sex was like a taboo word in my house growing up and I'm not real comfortable talking about it either)

I don't want her learning about it in school, I feel that is the parents job and my husband is like, well we will just have to get to her first.

But at my 10 year old sisters school, they had a sex ed class when she was 9. So that scares me too.

When did you give the talk?
ADD: We did have a sex ed class for 1 day in science in the 8th grade...but parents had the choice to let their kids sit out.

Well my parents didn't give me that option....and about 6 friends and I cut class so we didn't have to hear about it. Sex was an embarassing topic and we didn't want to be around our peers hearing about it.

(I know very immature but that is how we were, thats what we did. none of us 6 got pregnant either until after we were married or engaged, but several girls in our graduating class attended graduation ready to pop)

I'm not so sure sex ed in school is that great of an idea, especially since they hand out condoms.....that is just basically giving the child the go ahead I feel.

(Until i was on the Pill I was too scared to do anything)
But it seems kids today are doing it protection or no protection....they just don't care
