When is Numbness and Emergency?

I am having a major issue with nurabness and pins and needles lately, more so than I have ever had in the past. I feel it in my feet, up as high as my left knee, around my lower back and buttocks, and sometimes, I am not totally, nurab but it feels as though my entire lower body will go nurab. It is like a tingly feeling. I have not lost control of my bowels or bladder though.

The feeling always comes back, but what if next time it doesn't? When is it a real problem that neeRAB to be addressed asap?

Are you headed for surgery for this? If so you have to see if you can last until then. But if nurabness gets to a point where you are unable to walk, unable to void (bladder or bowel) or can't control bladder or bowel - then an emergency room might be needed. However, make sure to go to the emergency room where your surgeon is located at - or you could end up being operated on by a surgeon you don't know if it's a true emergency.

Years ago when I had gallbladder problems the surgeon advised me to only go to the ER he's affiliated with if anything got urgent. I did have an ER visit about 5 days before my gallbladder removal and went to that ER (even though there were at least 4 closer). They didn't have to operate earlier but since they could contact the surgeon he was able to immediately order medications that helped me hold over until the surgery

Yeah a few weeks ago when I went to the ER I went to the one I will be having my surgery at. 5 days before my first fusion I ended up in the ER because I was in terrible pain and I could not get myself out of the fetal position. I literally could not move. It was interesting getting me in the car and then into the ER. But I went to a different hospital because I had a different surgeon who was at that hospital.
I am having a 2 level fusion. I am waiting for the scheduler to call me. I am guessing it will be in a month or so.
I had my gallbladder out on Nov 30th! You and I have similar issues. One of my stones was the size of a golf ball! Yuck!
