This has nothing to do with Americans. I use my left hand to hold a steak
(or a piece meat or vegetable or anything else) for slicing it or cutting
it. Why? Because I'm not left handed and my right hand more easily makes
the cut. I switch hands to eat with. It's more comfortable. Would you ask
me to write with my left hand? Sorry, but you'd get a child's scribble if
you asked me to do that. I'm not left-handed. I'm not ambidextrous. Why
is this such a difficult concept? It has nothing to do with which continent
you live on. It goes against the grain for me to use my left hand for
anything other than keeping my napkin on my lap while I spoon up the soup or
whatever with my right hand. And why (oh why!) do you keep trying to make
this an International issue? It's not.
