When I turn on my MacBook the screen goes white and the light flashes?

It's not a virus. That generally means the motherboard has passed on.

I got the MacBook in the summer of 2008.just now I turned it off and then back on because it was frozen. When I turn it
on now the screen goes white and no apple is loading or anything? Ad when I hole down the power button the light in the lower right han corner flashes and then the laptop turns onto the white screen again? Does that mean that my MacBook has A virus?
