When I took a IQ test when I was young (5 or so) They told my parents I would not...

I.Q tests mean nothing. You can amount to whatever you want, and for the record you sound smart, but that just be because you are trying to sound smart, but it doesnt seem that way to me.
Good for you man, keep up the good work

...amount to much? However, Today I have amounted to a LOT. They placed me in ESE when I began schooling and today I am quite successful and above average in many aspects of my life.

My achievements include: Scoring a perfect score on the state-writing test in 10th grade and getting straight A's my senior year. Even though I only did get a 3.3 GPA when I graduated, I still consider that pretty darn good and I was very lazy my freshmen year so I know I had the potential to reach a 3.5 GPA or higher if I put in extra effort.

I have consistently earned A's in technology class and I'm not saying I'm a genius. I study, I need too in order to obtain my personal goals but it blows my mind that they would say I wouldn't amount to much because my IQ score was slightly low.

Does it sound like I'm stupid from this question? My question to you is: Just how accurate is an IQ test in determining what one will amount to in life?

I find it completely inaccurate, I don't feel below average, I know I have my weaknesses and I'm not perfect but I think I have the potential to amount to great things and I think I've made great strides in my academic journey that show proof of that. If only I could see who-ever those people were who said that now and prove them wrong...
(I'm 18, 1st yr. in college btw.)
