AJAX stands for Asynchronous JavaScript And XML. What it does is when content on a page changes, the browser (subconsciously) accesses a database and changes the screen without having to load another page (saving time for you). You will need to get another browser that supports AJAX (Like FireFox). If you don't... well, then your SOL.. Sorry.
 
Here's the plain and simple truth. The only people who use Internet Explorer at all are people who don't know better. Listen to me: Uninstall IE8 right now. Go and download Firefox. Your sites will render significantly better, your browser will run faster, and you'll have much less of a headache in general. Please - as a web developer who has to debug specifically for Microsoft's crap browsers, I want you to pass this on to your friends too.
