When good Movies go bad...

Have you ever sat through a movie thinking 'this is pretty good' and then had the whole concept ruined by a shoddy ending?

Recently I seem to have had a spate of these where I've really wished I hadn't bothered once I've seen the last 10 minutes.

The one for me that sticks out for me from recent viewings is Precognition (I think that was it's name anyway - Julian McMahon and Sandra Bullock where she gets news he's dead and then when she wakes up the next day he's alive)

Good concept, interesting build up as she realises what's happening to her and the implications it has then it turns out
that she was having the visions JUST to ensure that she shagged him one last time so she could have a baby.
Urrrgh!

I also saw Babylon AD at the weekend and they just seemed to run out of money/ideas in the last 10 minutes. Mind you the film overall was pretty mindless so that may not count.

So what endings have totally ruined the Film for you? Please use spoiler tags if you are going to talk about specifics of the ending :)

Yeah, but I guess:

...it's more true to life.

I know. It was such a boring film, and completely a vehicle for Daniel Day Lewis to indulge himself once again.

Yep, quite a good first half but the second half of the film just spiraled out of control and that ending, OMG, possibly one of the worst I've ever witnessed.

I've mentioned Sunshine before but I thought it started off brilliantly but just completely lost it half way through and became a 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' (in Space) ripoff.

I kind of feel more cheated by good films going bad than just flat out bad ones, I think it just feels like a major let down...it could have been so very good but it just ended up being shit.

That's the arthouse bit they use for the Oscars. :D

You're right about the ending. You know when the screen fades and you start seeing credits? I was sat there waiting for something else to happen. I couldn't believe that was the ending. I thought I'd missed something. I haven't seen a worse ending since the Matrix Revolutions or The Lord of the Rings animated movie.

Death Proof

Enjoyed the car chases and thought Kurt was doing a great job at playing the sensless killer and then
Kurt turns into a cry baby who gets karate-kicked to death by the most annoying women I've ever seen in a movie. Am I alone here or did anyone else want him to wipe them out? :D

What a shite ending!!!!!!!!!!!

A.I the worst ending ever. I had to wind it up because it got so boring. The movie should have ended about 3 times before it did.

I Am Legend great film but got shoddy towarRAB the end with the introduction of the woman and her son

Yep, I agree. The book was much better, with the "new breed" woman tricking him into helping her then trying to help him escape what was coming. The fact that he was the last man on earth and it all ended horribly for him and human beings. In other worRAB, the whole meaning of the title "I Am Legend"! Typical bloody Hollywood, have to coat everything in sugar.

;27486806']Not seen Flightplan, but it's not the only one of Jodie Foster's films to go off the rails:

Contact - was her Dad an alien or did the alien steel his body?
Nell - wtf???
