when fishing with bread, what is the best recipe that i can make?

ive usually just taken a piece of bread and smashed and molded it onto the hook and it works decent, but is there a better way to do this?
 
Buy a roll of the store brand dough...sorta like the pillsbury dough but $3 cheaper. Stays on the hook much better and you can leave a tail to entice larger fish
 
add some shrimp scent, sturgeon scent, shad scent or any good brand of scent oil to the mix but other than that we use buttermilk biscut dough and it works good and even better with a scent oil on it, you could also try adding fresh fish eggs to the dough for a buffet of sorts for the fish
