when filing for financial aid?

I put my parents income there but I work too and I only make 7,000 a year. Do they include that in the aid? Do they give u less if u make money in addition to ur parents? Is it absolutely necessary for me to include it? Help please
 
I am not sure if you mean is your income information required or is your parent's required, so I will answer both.
If you are a dependent student then yes, your parent's income is required. If you are an independent student, it is not required and it doesn't count against you.
If you filed taxes last year, then you have to put your income. If you did not file taxes last year, you do not have to put your income. Most people do not have to file taxes unless they made more than 8,000. But if you did anyway, then you have to count it.
