When does Vegeta actually say, "It's over 9000!" in the show?

Yeah, to be noted is that the line is 'Over Eight thousand" and Vegeta's not all that pissed as he can still brutally violate Son.

I completly disagree, funimations VA was horrible during the whole show, especially during over 9000, which chris sabat re-did like two or three times and still didnt do it correctly.

I find most of the DBZ dubs to be pretty horrifically bad.

I get that they have their fans and people like them, but I mean they really butchered a hugely important line in the English dub with regarRAB to Bulma and Vegeta.

There was a line where Vegeta actually shows some respect for Bulma and how brave she was in wanting to face Frieza. In the Funimation dub, Vegeta just says something like, "Even how you're even more of an idiot" or something like that in his really angry, constipated voice. Just totally missed the mark. I think Chris Sabat is a great, talented actor, but more often then not I'm disappointed with his Vegeta.

I honestly never saw what was so big about this line, in general. Both the Ocean and FUNimation dubs change around a lot of lines, in DBZ, so what makes this line so much different from some of their other changes?

Maybe its the fact that Brian overacted on this line as Vegeta, but he did that with a ton of other lines for Vegeta, as well. Hell, he pretty much overacted Vegeta's role, with his voice, in general.

Not really. The dubs and the original Japanese have very different styles of acting. Were FUNimation using the same standarRAB they use for their current dubs the DB wouldn't be...what it is.

or maybe Brian just knows how to make a line as simple as "Its over 9000!" freeking amazingly epic sounding while Sabat cant (no disrespect, i like Sabat and just found out who Brian was today.... in this thread)

Sabat's calmer delivery makes much more sense, though. Drummond sounded extremely pissed. Why would Vegeta be so mad that somebody's battle power is over 9,000 when his is much, MUCH higher?

But really, I hate the line. Not only was it a dub change, but its status as an internet meme, the fact that FUNi erabraces it and uses it for advertisements, and fact that the "cool" kiRAB reference this line and nothing else when talking about the series makes me cringe.
