you really do need to change it every 50-60 thousand miles the reason i say this i got one that was towed to the shop today with a broken timing belt and its going to cost a fortune to repair this one,the guy was running about 70 miles per hour when it broke so every valve in it is bent,it and its going to be a really expensive repair to make if it breaks, this one probably around 1200 bucks or more or possibly replace the engine,we don't know yet how bad it is,its better to have it changed than have this happen to it,good luck.

you dont have to but itonly recommended that you do so some are about 60,000 most last much longer 100,000 or more its just if it breaks it can cause damage to valves and sometimes more but its not a have to do it now thing so it depends on your pockets ive never change any of them my self and ive been driving the car i have now its got over 200,000 and not a problem yet knock on wood my wife car has 180,000 its not been done either you can look it up online most of my searching most do it a round 100,000 what i did was type in your info and many was over 100,000 or a round it
