When do I install a gas line for my cook-top, before or my Kitchen is installed?

I am getting a Kitchen installed soon and just wondering whether I should get the gas line put in for my cooktop before or after the kitchen is installed?

And is it possible to install the gas line after the kitchen is installed. There will be cupboards under the cooktop.

My kitchen installer is coming soon and my gas man is unavailable until after that.
