As for when they had the sex talk with me, I don't remember it happening specifically. Mom gave me an age-appropriate booklet on reproduction and was available for questions or clarification. I don't remember if I even asked her anything. My father wasn't involved in the issue at all that I remember. I don't know exactly how much info I got out of that booklet, but I don't recall ever believing some of the sex myths some teens seem to (esp with regard to how a woman can or cannot get pregnant).
