I hate to be the bringer of bad news, but news is, by definition, biased. Think about this:
Who decides what is news and what's not? Do you honestly believe that everyone who sees something happen sees the same things, and thinks about those things, and the event as a whole, in the same way. Here's a newsflash: everyone on Earth is different from everyone else, we are all unique, and nothing is ever the same. Everything changes, and everything is always changing.
So what does this mean for news? Every news program broadcasts different segments of news. When more than 1 program broadcasts the same event, each program presents their segment differently. When more than 1 program broadcasts footage from a single source, the source is interpreted differently by each segment presenter.
This is because individuals have opinions, beliefs, and principles, and there are so many of each to choose from. The owner of the broadcaster, for example, can intervene at any time and edit a segment to suit his/her opinion, and they often do, particularly regarding issues or events that are particularly volatile or controversial. The US federal election, for example, is one of those controversial issues that can literally divide a nation. In most cases the owner needn't intervene because the staff working at that broadcaster all have similar opinions, but within that group there are people at both extremes, who can present something inflammatory in the opinion of those with similar opinions, which can mean that when presented to everyone it's seen as insulting, or possibly even illegal, but it really is just the opinion of only one or a few people in power, and it will always be biased.
